My favorite recipes of Grandma McGlathery's were her cinnamon rolls, pineapple cookies, and fried haddock. But since I have none of them, I'll share the one recipe I tore from a letter from her. In her defense, I want to clarify that I never knew she drank alcohol at all until I received this recipe. I find it rather amusing and a glimpse into her life as a widow.
By the way, the "salesmen" she entertained were Mutual of Omaha insurance men for whom she worked. She answered their phone calls and worked from her home in her senior years.
I like the history of the High Ball Slush she included in the recipe. I never knew she drank alcohol either. What a suprise to find out she kept it in the freezer all the time!
